No one will be held accountable for negligent homicide of Tyler Nii

Tyler Nii, a young tourist from California went tandem sky diving in Queenstown on his second day in NZ, crash landed in Lake Wakatipu and simply vanished.

The victim’s family say the Civil [Criminal] Aviation Authority (CAA), and by extension the New Zealand Government, couldn’t care less about what happened to Tyler. [And in our experience they’re absolutely right.]

“They were really difficult to work with. I felt they purposely were being very obtuse to us, very rude … it was like they wanted to keep us in the dark.”

“My parents have had a really difficult time with it. I’m not doing any better. I’ve got a job and two kids but it’s difficult getting by with the trauma of losing my brother … We used to see each other every day.” Kevin Nii, the victim’s brother.

We’ve considered suing the life jacket company in the United States, Kevin Nii said.

“But we can’t do that unless they recover the body and the life jacket. Everybody we talk to says there’s nothing we can do.”

In another kick, it appears any compensation will be minimal, despite promises from various organisations after Tyler’s death. The family are not considered victims of crime for the sake of the Victims Compensation Fund because no-one has been prosecuted and any possible payout from ACC appears to be small.

“Obviously nobody went into this expecting to be compensated but this is adding more insult to injury.

“I can understand the Government not wanting to give us money but it’s really frustrating that they’re actively trying to screw us over. The fact that we can’t sue anybody is really difficult.”

“A coronial inquest for 2-year-old Hineihana Sosefina Mausii, who died on September 29, 2013, concluded in the Dunedin District Court on Thursday. She had been taken to Dunedin Hospital twice in two days, but died a day after being released, a report said.

Court documents revealed that Milne had told witnesses that Asians were “taking over the country” and that  “fucking Asians” had damaged his car.

“Milne also made a racist remark about the shape of the family’s eyes and said they had run away because he would get ‘the pieces of sh*t’ deported,” a report said.

He chased the Chinese target car several times, the last time for about 7km, at high speeds, the court heard.

Then, after catching the family, he pulled up alongside them on the wrong side of the road and demanded they stop.

The family refused, so Milne deliberately rammed their car, causing it to spin out of control and crash into a bank.

Flipping in the air, the family’s car landed upside down on top of Milne’s vehicle before sliding off when he braked suddenly.

When he did, however, the two children were thrown from their car.

They had earlier taken their seatbelts off because they thought they might need to make a hurried exit, court documents read.

The two children landed on the road, narrowly avoiding a steep 100m deep ravine.

But despite the two children lying injured, Milne approached the car to continue his attack.

“Get out of the f**king car, I’m going to smash you! You f**king Asian c***! F**king Asians!” Milne yelled.

Crown prosecutor Jasper Rhodes told the court that the road rage incident was a “very serious racial motivated attack on a family”.

“This is not simply a case of road rage,” he asserted, adding that the racial slurs showed what was “essential to his beliefs”.

However, the white supremacist Justice Sally Fitzgerald simply disagreed with the prosecution, thus endorsing the very serious racial motivated attack on non-white families and opening the way for future terrorist attacks against the minorities living in NZ [and Australia.]

The would be terrorists rest assured that NZ justice is NOT on the side of their victims, a fact readily reinforced by our shameful history.

It’s true that the assault of wealthy foreigners on this country has made life very difficult, making home ownership, for example, almost impossible for the average Kiwi.

Road Toll Alert: Many Fatalities, Serious Injuries Continue to Go Unreported

Why would government need a new strategy to reduce number of road deaths by 40 per cent when their existing strategy of “Lying by Omission” reduces the fatalities by at least two-thirds?

Not fully satisfied with its policy of “Lying by Omission”, government insists its new strategy, released today, will reduce the road toll to all time lows.

“The government’s ‘Road to Zero’ 2020-2030 road safety strategy consultation document outlines how it aims to reduce deaths and serious injuries on our roads by 40 per cent by 2030”,  a report said.

Government still insists that only 377 deaths and 2,598 serious injuries occurred on NZ roads in 2018.

Latest ‘murderous pursuit’ by police ends in crash, serious injury, power outages

WTF: Police pursuit intended to murder ‘fleeing’ driver ends in Mangere East crash, serious injury, transformer explosion, power outages…

Many people in Mangere East are tonight without power after police shunted a fleeing car from behind forcing it to crash into a transformer on Buckland Rd in South Auckland.

The damage sustained by the pursued car, which included the back window and rear taillight of the car being broken, is consistent with the vehicle being shunted from behind.

1.  The idea of collective karma

In previous lectures I have referred to an interview with Lati Rinpoche in which the topic was karma and rebirth. One of the topics that came up in that interview was the notion of collective karma.That portion of the dialogue went as follows:

Hayes: What is the most frequently encountered question when you are speaking to Western audiences?

Lati Rinpoche: People always want to know why the ways of the world are as they are and who created these things. People want to know why there is so much pain and suffering in the world, and why there are so many thieves and other bad people causing so much suffering for others.

Hayes: That reminds me of a question that was once put to me when I was giving a public lecture about Buddhism. A Jewish person in the audience asked me how the Buddhists would explain why during the Second World War in Europe so many innocent Jewish children, who had never done anything wrong to deserve punishment, were put to death in Nazi concentration camps or were left as homeless orphans. That situation was completely lacking in any justice in that so many of the victims were apparently totally innocent. How would Lati Rinpoche answer that question if it were put to him?

Lati Rinpoche:
The proper Buddhist answer to such a question is that the victims were experiencing the consequences of their actions performed in previous lives. The individual victims must have done something very bad in earlier lives that led to their being treated in this way. Also there is such a thing as collective karma.

Hayes: Do you mean that the Jewish people as a whole have a special karma?

Lati Rinpoche: Yes. All groups have karma that is more than just the collection of the karma
of the individuals in the group. For example, a group of people may decide collectively to start a war. If they act on that decision, then the group as a whole will experience the hardships of being at war. Karma is the result of making a decision to act in a certain way. Decisions to act may be made by individuals or by groups. If the decision is made by a group, then the whole group will experience the collective consequences of their decision.

Hayes: What can an individual do to change the karma of the group that he or she belongs to?

Lati Rinpoche: You can change all karma through practice. You can persuade the group to adopt pure attitudes and to develop pure practices.  […]

Reported cases of gonorrhoea triple in South Canterbury

The number of cases of gonorrhoea reported in South Canterbury in the past 12 months has almost trebled, raising concern among some health professionals.

About 35 cases of gonorrhoea were reported per 100,000 people in the first quarter of 2019, according to data released by the Institute of Environmental Science and Research (ESR). In the same period of 2018, the reported cases were 12 per 100,000 people.

Cases of syphilis and gonorrhoea rising in New Zealand – ESR

Cases of syphilis in New Zealand continue to increase, with new ESR data showing 548 reported for the 12 months ended March 2019 and these cases concentrated among men aged 20 to 39.

The number of syphilis cases is up from 527 for the 12 months ended December 2018, and from a total of 82 reported cases five years earlier (based on data available for the 12 months ended December 2013.  […]

Syphilis

The increase in total syphilis cases includes a recent rise in congenital syphilis (confirmed and probable) to three cases during the 2018 calendar year, with two additional cases still under investigation, and a further two cases reported so far in 2019. Congenital syphilis is a serious multi-system infection caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum which is passed from mother to developing foetus during pregnancy. This results in miscarriage or still birth in about half of cases.  […]

Gonorrhoea

The ESR data show gonorrhoea rates have increased significantly in recent years, with 117 cases per 100,000 of the New Zealand population reported for the 12 months ended March 2019.  The rate for the 12 months ended December 2017 was 99, and for the 12 months ended December 2013 it was 77.

Gonorrhoea rates have increased significantly since 2015 with the highest rates reported in men aged 20-29 years. The increase in the national rate is largely driven by cases reported from the Auckland region where male rates continue to be well above the national average.

A new questionnaire was completed for about 30% of cases notified from October 2018 to March 2019. Of these cases, 34% were reported in men who have sex with men, while a further 21% were in heterosexual men and 23% in heterosexual women.

Chlamydia

Chlamydia rates have changed little in the past two years but chlamydia continues to be the most commonly reported STI in New Zealand with the highest number of cases and rates reported in females aged 15−29 years.  In the 12 months ended March 2019, there were 653 cases per 100,000 population, compared with 644 in the 12 months ended December 2017.
