A German visitor killed in New Zealand every few days?
Arnold Alfred Thomas Zehner Jr, a 35-year-old German national was killed in a motorcycle crash on the Masterton-Castlepoint Road on Monday 11 December 2017, police said.

Under the New Zealand law, there are two main categories of culpable homicide (the illegal killing of one person by another) – murder and manslaughter. Murder is when one person kills another deliberately or while acting recklessly, knowing that death is likely. Manslaughter generally refers to accidental homicide arising from an unlawful act or failure to act, where death could not reasonably be expected.
Foreigners Killed in NZ Since 2000
At least 4,000 overseas visitors, international students, foreign workers, recent emigrants and refugees have lost their lives and more than 24,000 others seriously injured in New Zealand between Jan 2000 and Jan 2017.
The above statistics have been available for several years. We have regularly posted on this website the numbers of fatalities and serious injures sustained by foreigners in this country. [We would consider publishing results of other valid researches on the extent of the casualties.]
The average NZer, who profits from millions of overseas visitors spending their money in this country, should know by now where they legally stand.
The question now is weather New Zealanders should be held culpable for mass murder, or manslaughter of so many foreigners.
Are the silent New Zealanders guilty of mass murder because they are acting recklessly, knowing that many of the unsuspecting foreigners lured into this country would be killed?
Or are they culpable of accidental homicide, where multiple deaths could not reasonably be expected, despite the fact that so many foreigners have been/are being killed in similar ways and in the same places, year after year, after year?

Police and emergency services were called to a crash near Oropi around 10.15pm last night, where a car hit a tree. The driver died at the scene which was on Pyes Pa Road between Williams Road and Taumata Road.

One person has died following a single-vehicle crash between Switzers Road and Moncurs Road at about 11pm on 19 December. The single occupant of the vehicle died following a crash, where it appears the vehicle has left the road and crashed into a paddock.
