The body of Fletcher Wong, 19, from Wellington was found this afternoon, two days after he went missing from the Rhythm and Vines music festival in Gisborne. [He was most likely murdered in a racially-motivated attack. –KD]

Volunteers have this afternoon located the body of a young man in the Ormond area of Gisborne. The teen has been identified as 19-year-old Fletcher Wong, who was reported missing on Tuesday.

The death will be referred to the Coroner, police said. [The cause of death has not been revealed and NZ media seem to be OK with that. Editor]

March 23, 2019
Two experienced flight instructors died after the Diamond DA42 Twin Star aircraft they were flying in crashed in the Kaimawana Ranges.

The bodies of Peter Callagher, 27, and Zakir Ali Parkar, 29, were found in the wreckage in steep terrain the day after the crash. Bad weather had hampered the search effort. The men were experienced flight instructors from Ardmore Flying School in South Auckland.

The findings come in the 792-page report by the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the terrorist attack on Christchurch masjidain released finally this afternoon.

KEY POINTS

• Security agencies which missed the Christchurch mosque terrorist were too busy concentrating on Islamic extremists, the Royal Commission of Inquiry has found.
• Police “did not meet required standards” in their checks and processes in granting him a firearms licence.
• Despite these findings, the report says nothing could have been done to stop the March 15, 2019 attacks, which left [at least 52] Muslims dead, and the agencies were not to blame [sic.]
