Quake awakens Wellington

The quake struck at a depth of 39 km (± 6 km), some 15 km north-west of Wellington around 5:49 am this morning, Geonet said.

Centered at 41.17S, 174.60E, the quake was reported by more than 2,500 people throughout the country.
