A body was found inside a shed after a fire at a property on Tankerville Rd, Hoon Hay, about 8.00am on Thursday. “A Taranaki officer failed to properly investigate a crash involving an off-duty colleague, the Independent Police Conduct Authority (IPCA) has found.”
But the whole thing was a waste of time because “IPCA did not find any evidence that suggested the investigating officer’s decisions were made as a result of bias or favouritism towards the off-duty officer,” the Acting Central District Commander Infector Stewart was quoted as saying.
