Five people killed in a single-vehicle crash in Timaru, driver taken to hospital

A vehicle reportedly collided with a pole shortly before 7:30pm, at the intersection of Seadown Rd and Meadows Rd.
Mid-south Canterbury Area Commander Dave Gasket confirmed there were multiple deaths – Stuff understands it is five – and the driver has been taken to Timaru Hospital.

Five people seriously injured in Southland crash

Five people have been hospitalised, two with critical injuries, following a two-vehicle crash in Southland.

A serious crash on Tokanui-Gorge Rd Highway between Fleming Rd and Chisholm Rd, Fortrose has injured six people. Two people had been flown to Dunedin Hospital with critical injuries, with two patients who had serious injuries taken to hospital by ambulance.

A fifth person who was seriously injured had been taken to Southland Hospital. A sixth person suffered moderate injuries.
