Man charged with murder in south Auckland

A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting in south Auckland on Saturday. He is also being charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.

Police have named the victim as 32-year-old Leslie Putt.

A man was stabbed in Avalon, Lower Hutt shortly before 8pm tonight, police said.

The victim is in a serious condition and has been transported to Wellington Hospital by helicopter.

A junior Navy officer alleges she was sodomised by a superior who pinned her down on her bed and told her: “Shh, just let it happen.”

“Scott Christopher Devonport Ward is on trial at the Auckland District Court on a charge sexual violation by way of an unlawful sexual connection with a junior naval officer in October 2011.”

The officers were in Wellington celebrating 70th anniversary of the Royal New Zealand Navy [aka, “The Rape Navy”] on the day of the alleged rape.

A 44-year-old NZ Rape and Assault Navy [NZRAAN] petty officer who entered a trainee’s bedroom while she was in her nightclothes pleaded guilty to common assault, media reported.

He “visited uninvited the home of a 19-year-old trainee, who was under his instruction at HMS Olphert, a naval reserve unit, in Wellington [overlooking the heavily sewage contaminated water,]” and “persuaded her to let him into her bedroom … then gave her a bear hug while teaching her to tie knots using her dressing gown cord.”

Other details were not made available.

The petty scumbag told the court he would be retiring from the Navy this month, after 19 years and 11 months of raping, assaulting and bullying the trainees, but refused to say what line of work he would be perusing.

Thousand to one, he would join the police force, since he has all the necessary qualifications.
