Another 11-year-old girl grabbed on her way to school

“Police are investigating an incident in St Heliers this morning where a man has attempted to a grab an 11-year-old girl on her way to school.

“A man had been following the victim for around 200 metres on St Heliers Bay Road. When she arrived at her school the man has come up from behind her and grabbed her. She has managed to break free and has run into her school.

“This has happened between 8am and 8.20am. The victim has reported the matter to a teacher and police have been notified at approximately 9.30am. She was not injured but is obviously shaken by what has happened.” [With apologies, again, to our foreign readers for NZ police’s poor literacy skills. Moderator B.]

A female student at Victoria University in Wellington awoke to find a 6-feet tall muscular intruder in her bedroom early on Sunday morning. Update on missing Chinese tourist Ling Fang Mai

Family members of 42 year-old Chinese tourist Ling Fang Mai have been in touch with NZ Police to advise that she phoned them overnight to say she was ok. However, she has not been seen since she left her Parnell hotel room in Auckland last Wednesday.

“Ling Fang Mai came to New Zealand last Wednesday, as part of a tour group. The rest of the tour group flew out of the country to Australia on Friday night, to continue the tour. Ling Fang Mai though never showed up for the flight. Police believe she is still in the country.”  http://www.police.govt.nz/news/release/update-missing-chinese-tourist-ling-fang-mai
