Operation Archer [and NO Sh*t!] – Upper Hutt Homicide Investigation
Wellington District Police said they have commenced a homicide investigation into the murder of a 30-year-old woman.
Police responded just after midnight to a disturbance at a residential address on on Saturday 10 December.
The woman, who was believed to be living at a house on Ward Street, Trentham, had been assaulted with a weapon (not a firearm) and was found deceased at the address.

Police are seeking three or four males who were believed to be present at the address at the time of the victim being assaulted.

Body of swimmer recovered from Kawarau River
“Police can confirm a 19-year-old man has died after getting in to difficulties while swimming in Kawarau River this afternoon.

Attempted abduction of a 2-year-old girl in Hamilton
Hamilton [NZ’s other child-sex capital] Police are seeking witnesses to an attempted abduction of a child outside a preschool Friday evening.
At around 5.50pm, was getting dropped off at a preschool on Peachgrove Road by her father.
As her father was getting his other child out of the car, a male walking past has called the girl over, grabbed her by the arm, and attempted to walk off with her.
The father has yelled out to the man, who has then walked off along Peachgrove Road towards Te Aroha Street.
The man is described as Caucasian, aged around 50, of medium build and around 177cm tall. He was wearing a blue suit jacket, and possibly beige-coloured pants. He is described as tidily dressed but had possibly been sleeping rough.

New Zealander killed in Indonesian crash, two others injured
The New Zealand woman was killed in a Contiki van crash in Indonesia on Thursday. She worked for the tour company.
