Five killed including three in serious car crash in Levin

Proudly killed in New Zealand

The driver of a car and two passengers were killed violently in a crash in Levin just after midnight this morning.

“The crash occurred shortly after midnight this morning on Cambridge Street, Levin. A car has driven into the back of a large truck and trailer unit that was parked on the side of the road.

“As a result of the crash the car has burst in flames and engulfed both the car and truck and trailer unit, police said.”

Fatal collision on SH1, Wellsford
At least one person was killed and two others injured in a serious collision on SH1, Wellsford (Waitemata).  Emergency services were called at 4:40pm, Sunday 30 July, 2017.  One person was killed and another is critically injured following the collision involving two motorcyclists. Deadly/near-fatal Attacks on Tourists

Tourist in critical care in hospital after Kitchener Street, Auckland assault

“About 3.40am on Saturday 29 July a 42-year-old Tongan national was assaulted on Kitchener Street in the Auckland CBD. The victim has received serious head injuries and is in critical care at Auckland Hospital.”

The victim was allegedly walking down the middle of Kitchener Street “impeding traffic” when a vehicle stopped near the victim and words were exchanged between the victim and the occupants of this car.

“A short time afterwards, the car has driven off at speed and the victim was left lying on the ground.”

“The victim is on holiday from Tonga and was due to leave in two weeks’ time. His wife is flying over next week to be with him.”

Government censorship of suicide has to stop as research shows about one in 20 secondary school students report trying to commit suicide each year.

“Analysing data from a 2012 survey of some 8500 NZ high school students, the researchers found 4.5 per cent of high school students reported attempting suicide in the past 12 months, while 7.9 per cent had repeatedly self-harmed over that time. The study was published in June in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry.”

NZ rife with ‘greenwashing’, says government’s own eco-labelling brand, ‘Environmental Choice’

Products dishonestly labeled as “green” include harmful commercial cleaning items, building materials and toiletries.

Greenwashing was everywhere.  A stamp from Environmental Choice meant a company could substantiate claims it made to being sustainable, despite the truth.

“It’s rife, to be honest, greenwashing can mean all manner of things,” says Environmental Choice general manager Francesca Lipscombe.

“You know there are products that claim to be free of ingredients that in fact never applied to that type of product, and that’s a type of greenwash, you can put a picture of a dolphin on your packet which implies that the product is friendly to the environment, which is not necessarily the case.”
