Double Fatal Crash, Pongakawa – Name release

The two people who were violently killed in a crash between a car and a train in Pongakawa on Wednesday were Chary Alonzo Sabalande, 34, and Roymark Solomon Bering, 32, police have reluctantly revealed.
“Both had arrived recently from the Phillippines [sic] and were living and working locally in the Western Bay of Plenty.”
“Three other people were taken to hospital following the crash.

Death toll from the deadly storm was reported at only 64, instead of the scientifically researched total of at least 2,975.

Police appeal for information after pedestrian struck in Taupo

“Police are appealing for information after a woman was struck by a vehicle in Taupo late last night. The incident occurred on Richmond Avenue about 11.15pm, leaving the woman, 36, with critical injuries. She was flown to Waikato Hospital.”
“The vehicle involved, a white utility, left the scene and Police would like to speak to the driver, their passengers or anyone else who may have relevant information.”
