Official Road Toll as of December 2, 2016 (day 337 of the year): 297
BLOG’S STATISTICAL MODELS: About 900 people are killed on NZ roads each year and many thousands of others near-fatally injured. [Most probably] up to 831 road fatalities have occurred in NZ since 1 January 2016, but only 297 deaths have been recorded by police/Ministry of Transport [minitru.]
Truth about the daily carnage on the roads hurts the massive foreign investment in New Zealand including the $10 billion tourism industry.
As for the victims, who really gives a flying f*ck!?

American cycling near Tauranga Harbour Bridge was crushed to death by a truck. She had waited all her life to visit the Bay of Plenty of Deaths!!

2. One killed in Waikato crash

3. Man killed in Ahipara crash in Far North
[This was the 12th such unusual road fatality on NZ roads so far this year. To the best of our knowledge, this type of road death is almost unique to New Zealand. Moderator DH.]
A man was killed in a “single car crash” in Ahipara south east of Kaitaia. “He was ejected from the car and was killed after the vehicle landed on top of him, a police spokesman said.”

5. Fatal crash near Te Kaha, Bay of Plenty [of Deaths]
To be attributed to Detective Inspector Lew Warner, Bay of Plenty [of Deaths] Field Crime Manager: Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on State Highway 35 opposite the Raukokere Marae, near Te Kaha, yesterday afternoon. A motorcyclist was killed in the crash involving a van. 6. Man killed in Marlborough Sounds truck incident
A man was killed when a truck rolled down a bank in the Marlborough Sounds, police said. The incident happened on Clova Bay Rd about 8.45am on Sunday.

Man killed on Sunday 27 November in Clova Bay was 51-year-old Stephen Stratford who lived in Nelson, Tasman Police said.

11. Fatal collision on SH65 (earthquake route), north of Springs Junction
One person was killed in a collision between two trucks on SH65, 9.5kms north of Springs Junction, police said.

Climber’s body recovered from Mt Harper, Arthur’s Pass
The body of a climber who fell a “considerable distance” on an Arthur’s Pass mountain was recovered earlier today.
The victim, believed to be a foreigner, had been on a day climb on Mt Harper in Mid Canterbury yesterday but failed to return.
