A New Zealand-born soldier who joined the Australian Army to kill the foreign enemies of Australia and New Zealand [sic] was himself killed in Afghanistan on Monday.

Corporal Mathew Hopkins, 21, who was born in Christchurch, “was shot in an intense firefight with Taleban insurgents near the village of Kakarak,” close to the  Australian Army base at Tarin Kowt.

Hopkins was the third pakeha with a mercenary force to die on “active duty” [a euphemistic term, no doubt,] in Afghanistan, a report said, implying that more pakeha must have been killed, while not on  “active duty”.

The others killed on “active duty” were

1.  Auckland-born Sean Patrick McCarthy, 25, a member of the Australian Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) “killed when his vehicle struck a roadside bomb.”

2. Labour leader Phil Goff’s nephew, United States Army Captain Matthew Ferrara, 24, who was “killed in an ambush.”

“Cpl Hopkins had just returned to the frontline after home leave for the birth of his son Alex.” A rport said.

New Zealand Kills Another Israeli Soldier

No. of Israelis Killed in New Zealand in 2009 Exceeds the toll of Their Soldiers Killed by Friendly Fire in Gaza

An Israeli soldier visiting New Zealand was killed and five others received “serious or critical injuries” after a two-car collision on the Owaka Highway in South Otago, near the Finegand freezing works, about 8.50pm March 19, 2009.

“Or Eliyahu Ben-David” an Israeli soldier, 22, was reportedly the sole occupant of one of the cars, and the other five people were traveling in the other car believed to be in their late teens.

The dead man’s car, most probably a defective rental car, appeared to have gone out of control, crossing the center line,  and colliding with the other car.

It’s interesting to note that the families of Israeli citizens who are killed in New Zealand can successfully claim  substantially more damages than all other nationalities who lose a loved one in the country.

Additionally the identity of another dozen or so foreign tourists killed this year, including the two young Swedish women who were killed only hours after arriving in New Zealand, remain a closely-guarded state secret.

Never Underestimate The Power of NZ Police Stupidity

The Nincompoop New Zealand Police yesterday admitted to a “monstrous mistake”

They left a police camera congaing images of dead bodies and violence victims at a Lower Hutt house following a raid last year.

At least 16 people were identifiable in the pictures, a report said.

Ms Collins [aka Puffy,] the equally incompetent Police Minister (left), said it was always concerning when lapses affecting the public occurred, and that police were embarrassed by the latest one, a report said

“But it’s also good to bear in mind that there are 420,000 offences in any year that they deal with,” she told Radio New Zealand.

“The Police Commissioner has assured Ms Collins that the blunder will not be repeated.” [You want to bet?]

Collins said last night: “Obviously, this is embarrassing for the police. It is essential that police keep track of sensitive material and don’t let it fall into the wrong hands.

“I raised the issue with Police Commissioner Howard Broad today. He assured me that while there is always a chance that objects could be left behind in the heat of police operations, new processes have been put in place to minimise the chance of it happening again.”

“It was the second incident of mislaid police property in as many days, after it was revealed on Wednesday that police had left a restricted document with members of the Mongrel Mob during a raid last month.”

Cambodian Kidnapped in Auckland, New Zealand

Man released after Auckland kidnapping

Police say they freed a 24-year-old Cambodian man after he was kidnapped in Papatoetoe, south Auckland, on March 18, 2009.

Police said they were informed about the kidnapping and managed [hard to believe] the “safe release” of the victim.

When asked about their heroic effort to release the kidnapped victim, the police reportedly said the investigation was unfinished. No other details were available concerning the kidnapping or alleged police “rescue.”

The man whose body was found near his burning car was identified as Lindsay Mark Antony Bell, 45, of Cambridge, New Zealand.

Police killed a 14-year-old boy within a minute of chasing a car in Auckland early today.

“The victim was a passenger in a stolen car which crashed about 47 seconds after the police pursuit began in the west Auckland suburb of Titirangi. He died at the scene.”

The police could have taken measures to immobilize the ‘stolen vehicle,’ but they didn’t.

A 19-year-old woman is in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Nelson, New Zealand.

“Police said there had been reports of up to 10 youths kicking letterboxes, rubbish bins and passing cars as they walked along Weka Street around 9.30pm.

The victim reportedly stepped into the road to avoid being hit by rubbish bins, only to be hit by a passing vehicle.
