Name release – Tauranga fatal crash – Bay of Plenty of Deaths
Police have finally released details of an American tourist who was violently crushed to death in Tauranga on Tuesday 22 November 2016.
She was Carol Ann MacMillan, from the United States. The New York woman was killed on cruise ship shore excursion in Tauranga.
The victim was on a short cycle excursion with several other passengers when the truck hit her near the Tauranga Harbour Bridge at approximately 12:15pm, just four hours after the ship had berthed at the Port of Tauranga.
She had been travelling with her husband and friends on the cruise ship Celebrity Solstice.

Suspicious Fatal Crash near Te Kaha [Bay of Plenty of Deaths] – name release
The motorcyclist who was killed at the scene was Don Henry Turei Junior, 38, from Tawera.
“Mr Turei and his brother, who was travelling on another motorbike, had left a family wedding at Raukokere Church and were on their way to the wedding reception when the crash occurred.

A burnt-out, white Honda vehicle has since been located near the banks of the Raukokore River, a short distance from where Don Henry Turei Junior was killed, police said.
