We know there have been at least 22 fatal crashes in the past 7 days, but only 16 [15 listed + 1 through  Freudian Slip] were reported by police, as of writing.]

That said, the point here is at least 15 people were killed in 14 crashes, NOT in 15 crashes, as stated by the police (see above image).

Because, at least two people were killed in the Mangatawhiri crash on Wednesday (November 2).

[Blog readers will have also noticed that we are left in the dark AGAIN concerning the fates of a dozen or so people who have been critically/seriously injured in reported road crash over the past 7 days. –Moderator DH.]

Reported road fatalities (Monday – Thursday) climbs to 12

Fatal collision in Waiotahi Beach Opotiki on State Highway 2, Waiotahi – Thursday, 3 November 2016 – 11.50pm

Two vehicles were involved in a fatal crash near the Pipi Beds on Waiotahi Beach Road in Opotiki, Bay of Plenty [of Deaths,] late last night.

As a result of the head on collision, one vehicle has caught on fire. The driver of that vehicle, who was unable to extract themselves from the vehicle, was burnt to death.

Bay of Plenty [of Deaths] Police report second fatal crash overnight

Not long after the first crash, Eastern Bay of Plenty Police reported a second fatal crash on Reid Road, Ruatoki.

The driver and sole occupant of a 4×4 vehicle was killed in a crash that caused the vehicle to roll.  http://www.police.govt.nz/news/release/bay-plenty-police-attend-two-fatal-crashes-overnight
