Another young foreign visitor killed in New Zealand

More than 3,400 overseas visitors, international students, foreign workers and recent emigrants have lost their lives and about 18,000 others seriously injured in New Zealand since year 2000.

24 year old female visitor killed in Mount Aspiring fall

Fatal fall at Wanaka – Wednesday, 9 December 2015 – 6:10pm – Southern police

A 24 year old woman was killed in a fall at Mount Aspiring National Park [one of New Zealand’s Top Ten Tourist Deathtraps.]

The victim and her climbing partner were on a four-day trek based out of Makarora and were negotiating the Matukituki Waterfall face near Rabbit Pass when the fatal fall occurred, police said.

Another foreign student killed in New Zealand

Police have not yet released name details of the 16-year-old male international student who was reportedly killed by drowning on December 5 in the river mouth area at Awatoto, Hawkes Bay.

Another family seriously injured in car crash

More road-murders, homicide, work-place negligent homicides… in New Zealand

Serious crash on State Highway 16.  A car with 3 children in the back pulled out of a driveway near the crest of a hill and collided with an oncoming car.  Three children have been taken to Starship Hospital. Two are in a status 2 (serious) condition. Another child who is thought to be aged around 4 years old is in a status one (critical) condition, with serious life threatening injuries.

The parents of the children have both been taken to North Shore Hospital. At this point their condition is not known. [Why not? Not enough sober doctors to do their round?]  http://www.police.govt.nz/news/release/crash-state-highway-16

Mt Albert homicide
Nathan Mata Pukeroa will be buried from the Ohaki Marae, Pawarenga, today. Nathan was 24 and died after being attacked outside a Renton Rd, Mt Albert address in the early hours of Thursday, December 3.  His friend, a 22 year-old, was also attacked by the same, as yet unidentified, person. http://www.police.govt.nz/news/release/mt-albert-homicide-police-appeal-community

Man crushed to death by truck at Christchurch workplace

Fatal Crash in Feilding
At about 3:30pm on December 7, a female travelling west towards Feilding has collided with an East bound truck. The female driver of the car was taken to Palmerston North hospital but died of her injuries shortly after. http://www.police.govt.nz/news/updates/39908

Passenger dies following Coastal Highway crash
Hazel Margaret Gill, who was a front seat passenger in one of three vehicles involved in a crash on the Coastal Highway (SH60) on 2 December has died. Sunnynook Bus Station sexual assault
Last Wednesday (25 November) at around 4.20pm, the young lady got off a bus at the station. She was walking along the path towards Kapiti Place, when a man ran up behind her. He grabbed her, covered her mouth and sexually assaulted her.
