Mumps outbreak infects 169 in Auckland

A mumps outbreak in Auckland has infected about 170 people, most of them aged between 10 and 19.  Mumps is a serious and highly infectious viral disease.

The mumps outbreak in Auckland continues, with the majority of cases occurring among those aged 10 to 19 years and arising in West Auckland. Overseas incursions continue (15%), however the majority of transmission is occurring in the community. McDonald’s Robberies

Early morning robbery at 24-hour Auckland McDonald’s
Four people,armed with various tools including hammers, axes and crowbars, entered the Westgate restaurant at 3.15am and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
The armed robbers fled the scene in a stolen car.
