Foreword: “We have a [kosher] white supremacist establishment that shame even Donald Trump [NY mafia,] spend billions on an incompetent and unnecessary military, and let a brutal police force [and private security/spy firms] run the country [and commit murder and other heinous crimes] with absolute impunity, but have no clean water [and go blind while waiting for eye care, or die within hours of being released from hospital, while a significant portion of the taxpayers’ money goes toward servicing money-laundering operations, instead of feeding the 325,000 children who live below the poverty line] in New Zealand…” — A Reader

Unacceptable: Child poverty, housing crisis, incarceration rate, violence, abuse, bullying…

A UN human rights committee is reportedly “shocked” by New Zealand’s record on multiple issues including “child poverty, inadequate housing, the incarceration rate, and violence, abuse and bullying.” [WOW!]

The UN Committee responsible for oversight of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) was appalled even by the fake, watered down, euphemized, and otherwise doctored human rights stats presented to it by NZ officials, when they met in Geneva in March.

“According to the Ministry of Social Development’s Household incomes in New Zealand report 140,000 children – or 13 per cent – were living in households with income of less than 50 per cent of the median, before housing costs, in 2016.”

However, the actual child poverty figures are at least 325,000 or 30 per cent.

About 100,000 New Zealanders are HOMELESS!

For a third of ALL New Zealand children the Kiwi dream of home ownership, stable employment and education is just that – a dream.

For poor children in the developed South Pacific nation of 4.5 million illnesses associated with chronic poverty are common, including developing world rates of rheumatic fever (virtually unknown by doctors in comparable countries such as Canada and the UK), and respiratory illnesses.

Meals are irregular and nutritionally poor, consisting of meat pies, hot chips and 99c white bread. School attendance may be patchy or skipped entirely, and protective clothing and footwear for the harsh New Zealand climate is a luxury.

New Zealand’s most shameful statistic:

  • A third of ALL New Zealand children, [or 325,000,] now live below the poverty line – [70,000 more than two years ago – and over twice as many as did in 1984.]

Unicef’s definition of child poverty in New Zealand: Children living in households who earn less than 60% of the median national income – NZ$28,000 a year, or NZ$550 a week. [This definition has since been downgraded to 50% of the median national income by government to make the stats look improved.]

  • Cost of renting a garage in Auckland to live in:  search the net!

[Rent in New Zealand is 26.04% higher than in Sweden – average data for all cities.]
