“A 62-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 62-year-old woman at the Rutherford Hotel in Nelson overnight.

“Police were called to the hotel shortly before 9am this morning and a woman was found deceased.

“The man is due to appear in Nelson District Court on Monday 30 April.

“The man and woman were visiting New Zealand from overseas.”
