Another Chinese Boy Murdered, Presumed Missing?

Sixteen-year-old Chunji Gao, also known as Gary has not been seen for 13 days
Police say the Chinese teen teenager, who has been in the country less than two years and speaks limited English has been missing for nearly two weeks.
Chunji Gao, 16, left his home in suburban Botany on April 16, and has not been seen since.
Many young Asians go missing in New Zealand, never to be found again, at least not alive.
Chunji Gao, 16, left his home in suburban Botany on April 16, and has not been seen since.
Police says he took any no clothing, possessions, or money with him. His wallet was left at home.
“Sergeant Brett Meale said he spoke limited English and had few friends in New Zealand after arriving a couple of years ago.” NZPA said.
“He said the boy’s school had concerns he would not survive by himself.”
He was wearing blue track pants, a dark coloured sports jacket and black and yellow shoes, police said.

Elderly people also “disappear” in New Zealand. Here’s one.

According to personsmissing.org, “Each year about 12,000 people are reported missing” to New Zealand Police. Many of these are found, but some are surely the victims of foul play. The police always seem to be finding bodies. New Zealand is not “less violent” than other places are, and it is even more violent than some.

It’s very worrying that this boy has gone missing, but I believe your headline is jumping the gun by using the word murdered. There isn’t even any evidence that he’s dead (and I hope he’s not).

The Moderators hope the boy is not dead, but get real!

I have and I do see what your line of reasoning is, but I disagree on this point. Given Gary’s age and sex, and the fact that he left home without taking his wallet or cellphone, I fear it is more likely that he has committed suicide. We don’t know enough about his personal circumstances to be sure why he would do that, but of course racism and hostility towards Asian immigrants could be a major factor.
More news coverage continues to be given to missing girls and women, which saddens me. Our boys are just as precious as our girls – the coverage should be equal.

Police say he has been found. We hope that to be the case, but there’s no other proof other than what the police say. How about publishing a recent photo of him to put everyone’s mind at ease?
