More Indian students killed in NZ than in any other country, without so much as a single protest

To Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India:

Will you have stayed this quiet, dead silent, if so many Indians were killed in Pakistan, you hypocrite? More steam rises from a pile of compost, than your government. How much longer do you intend to suck it up to your old colonial masters? Come on, do something! Say something! It’s high time to show if you have b*lls.

  • Mandeep Singh, 23, a culinary arts student from India. A body recovered earlier today (18 October 2015) is believed to be the Indian student who went missing last week. Mandeep Singh, 23, a culinary arts student from India, went clubbing with three flatmates last Sunday and was last seen near Viaduct Harbour about 3am.

  • Tarun Asthana, 25, Indian Student. In November 2013, Tarun Asthana, 25, was killed outside McDonald’s in downtown Auckland’s Queen St. He was returning from a night of clubbing with friends when he was punched and knocked to the ground, according to reports. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-24803098
  • Sunil Kumar Raghavaraju, 25, Indian Student. In March 2011, a NZ Coroner ruled the badly decomposed body found at 90 Mile Beach three weeks earlier was  that of Indian Student Mr Sunil Kumar Raghavaraju, 25, who was a student in Auckland.
  • Srikanth Rayadurgam, 23, Indian Student. In October  2009, Srikanth Rayadurgam, 23, an Auckland University of Technology (AUT) student, left his Mt Albert home, Auckland, never to be seen again.
  • Charanpreet Singh Dhaliwa, 22. In November 2011, Indian man Charanpreet Singh Dhaliwal was found dead with horrendous head injuries at a west Auckland building site. Police say the 22-year-old security guard was assaulted and died from head injuries.

Man killed in Southland crash

Police name victim of Southland crash

On Saturday 17th October 2015 a single vehicle crash occurred on the Dipton Winton Highway, Southland. The 24 year old male driver of the vehicle was killed in the crash.

Police have now named the victim as David Sandri, who lived in Lumsden.
[Nationality of thebvictim was not disclosed by police.]

Meanwhile, the Transport Agency has released the following data without specifying which of the road kills have been excluded, or WHY.

  • Fatal road crashes in New Zealand as at Monday (19 October 2015): 227 crashes (207 crashes to 19 October last year)
  • Road fatalities as at Monday: 250 killed (217 reported kills last year)
  • Road fatalities in the 12 months to 19 October 2015: 325 killed (250 reported kills in the previous period)

Other Deaths

  • Invercargill Police have named the man who was killed in an incident in Invercargill on Saturday. He was Andrew Michael (Scrappy) Maugham, 28, possibly a UK, or Australian national.
  • Southern Police say the 24 year-old man who was found dead after allegedly jumping off the Riverton Bridge on Saturday night as Jade Rangi Cooper, of Riverton.
